1. Improvement of safety performance
The P-O bond in lithium iron phosphate crystal is stable and difficult to decompose. Even at high temperature or over charge, it will not collapse or heat or form strong oxidizing substances like lithium cobalt oxide, so it has good safety. It was reported that in actual operation, there was a small number of samples burning phenomenon in the acupuncture or short-circuit test, but no explosion occurred. However, the overcharging experiment used high voltage charging which was much higher than the discharge voltage of the self discharge, and it was found that there was still an explosion phenomenon. 2, improvement of life span
Lithium iron phosphate battery is a lithium ion battery using lithium iron phosphate as a cathode material.
The cycle life of long-life lead-acid battery is about 300 times, the highest is 500 times, and the LiFePO4 power battery has a cycle life of 2000 times or more. The standard charge (5 hours rate) can reach 2000 times. The same quality lead-acid battery is "new half year, half a year, maintenance and maintenance for half a year". At most 1~1.5 years, the lifetimes of LiFePO4 batteries will be 7~8 years under the same conditions. In comprehensive consideration, the performance price is more than 4 times that of the lead-acid battery in theory. High current discharge can be used for fast charging and discharging of 2C at large current. Under the special charger, 1.5C can charge 40 minutes to make the battery full, and the starting current can reach 2C, but lead-acid battery has no such performance.
3. Good performance at high temperature
The electrothermal peak of lithium iron phosphate can reach 350 -500 C, while lithium manganate and lithium cobaltate are only about 200 c. The working temperature range is wide (-20C-- 75C), with high temperature resistance, the peak of lithium iron phosphate is up to 350 C -500, while lithium manganate and lithium cobaltate are only about 200 c.
4. Large capacity
A charge is often not in the pool full of out of work under capacity will rapidly below the rated capacity value, this phenomenon is called memory effect. Like Ni MH and Ni Cd batteries, there is memory, but no LiFePO 4 battery exists. No matter what state the battery is in, it can be used with charge. It doesn't need to be discharged before it is recharged.
5. Light weight
The volume of the lithium iron phosphate battery of the same size is 2/3 of the volume of the lead-acid battery, and the weight is the 1/3 of the lead-acid battery.

Lithium iron phosphate battery is generally considered to be free from any heavy metals and rare metals (nickel hydrogen batteries need rare metals), non-toxic (SGS certification), pollution-free, in line with the European RoHS regulations, and is the absolute green battery certificate. So the reason why lithium battery is favored by the industry is mainly environmental considerations. Therefore, the battery has been included in the "863" national hi tech development plan during the "fifteen" period, and has become a national priority support and encouragement development project.
